Adams Rite UltraLine 7400 and 7401 Electric Strike (Faceplate Variants)
The Adams Rite 7400 and 7401 UltraLine is a compact, professional-grade electric strike developed for narrow-stile aluminium doors fitted with a compatible Adams Rite deadlatch or suitable cylindrical latch. Its shallow UltraLine mechanism replaces the fixed keeper in the frame or opposing door leaf, allowing an authorised access-control signal to release the existing latch without changing the way the mechanical lock is operated from the door.
Choose the 7400 flat-faceplate version for the appropriate flat frame preparation, or the 7401 radiused-faceplate version where the curved nose of the opposing narrow-stile door calls for a radius profile. These are distinct faceplate variants of the same UltraLine product family, so the profile must be checked against the opening before ordering.
This is an unmonitored electric strike: it provides the electrical release function but does not include the additional monitoring contacts supplied with the separately listed monitored models. Choose a monitored version if strike or latch feedback is required by the control system.
Key Features
- Purpose-made aluminium-door release: Designed for compatible narrow-stile aluminium frames and door assemblies.
- Existing deadlatch retained: Electrically releases a suitable latchbolt without the user having to withdraw the mechanical latch.
- UltraLine shallow case: Approximately 27mm deep, helping with tight clearances in suitable narrow-stile aluminium frames.
- Field-selectable locking behaviour: The strike can be configured for fail-safe or fail-secure operation to suit the system design.
- Preload-capable release: The manufacturer's current literature describes electrical release under up to 11.3kg of door preload.
- Adjustable keeper: The stainless steel keeper can be adjusted to assist correct latch engagement and alignment.
- Compatible latch projection: Suitable for compatible deadlatches or cylindrical locksets with approximately 12.7mm to 15.9mm latchbolt projection.
- Non-handed arrangement: Suitable for left- or right-hand door applications when correctly installed.
- Architectural finish: Satin anodised aluminium finish complements commercial aluminium door and frame systems.
- Short faceplate: Approximately 123mm to 124mm high and 32mm wide, depending on the selected series and faceplate.
- Stainless steel keeper: Durable bolt-retaining components support reliable repeated release and re-latching.
- Access-control compatibility: Can form part of an appropriately designed keypad, reader, intercom or managed door-entry system.

Flat and Radius Faceplate Options
- Flat Faceplate - 7400: Flat faceplate for the appropriate aluminium frame or single-leaf preparation.
- Radius Faceplate - 7401: Curved faceplate for a compatible radiused opposing stile or double-door arrangement.
Installation and Compatibility
- Confirm whether the opening requires a flat or radiused faceplate before selecting the strike; these profiles are not interchangeable without the correct door or frame preparation.
- Measure the existing faceplate, strike-body pocket, latch projection and available clearance behind the frame before ordering.
- Use the adjustable keeper and any supplied shim pack as instructed to achieve correct engagement without placing unnecessary side load on the latch.
- Check that the existing Adams Rite deadlatch or cylindrical latch enters the keeper centrally and withdraws without binding.
- Match the chosen voltage and AC/DC supply type to the actual strike variant; size the power supply and controller relay for the relevant current draw.
- Set fail-safe or fail-secure operation only where supported by the selected model and where consistent with the complete access-control and emergency-release design.
- Use appropriate fixings, mounting clips and frame preparation, and check handing, door gaps and latch alignment before energising the release.
- Commission the strike under real operating conditions, including the effect of the door closer, air pressure, latch preload and normal traffic.
- Check escape routes, emergency release, fire strategy and any required interfacing with a competent installer or responsible person before the opening is put into service.
Recommended Applications
- Single-leaf or paired aluminium entrance doors in offices, shared residential buildings and commercial premises.
- Narrow-stile shopfronts, communal entrances and controlled-access reception doors with compatible latch hardware.
- Audio or video door-entry systems where an indoor handset, monitor or release button operates the entrance door.
- Standalone keypad, proximity-reader and card-reader installations requiring an electrically controlled deadlatch release.
- Replacement and refurbishment projects where an existing Adams Rite release needs matching by faceplate, voltage and fail-safe or fail-secure behaviour.
What's Included
- One Adams Rite 7400 and 7401 UltraLine electric strike in the selected configuration.
- Matching faceplate and the standard manufacturer-supplied installation components for that model.
- Standard unmonitored electrical release connections.
- Power supply, controller, deadlatch, keypad and other access-control equipment are not included.
Check voltage, dimensions and compatibility before ordering.
