Fireco Dorgard DG2000 Fire Door Hold Open Device with Flat Floorplate (3 Colour Variants)
The Fireco Dorgard DG2000 is a self-contained, battery-operated acoustic fire door retainer that keeps a self-closing fire door open during normal use and automatically releases it when the fire alarm sounds. By allowing the existing door closer to close the door when required, it provides a practical alternative to unsafe wedges while improving movement, ventilation and day-to-day access around the building.
This version is supplied complete with a standard flat floorplate. The plate gives the Dorgard plunger a defined contact point and is particularly useful where a smooth or slippery floor, repeated door positioning or the door closer's operating force calls for a more positive location.
How the Fire Door Retainer Works
Open the fire door to the required position and press the foot-operated plunger to retain it. The DG2000 continually listens for a sustained alarm signal at around 65dBA or above. Once a suitable alarm has sounded continuously for approximately 14 seconds, the plunger releases and the existing self-closing mechanism shuts the door. Adjustable sensitivity and the timed night-time release function help the unit suit everyday operating conditions.
Key Features
- Automatic alarm release: Allows the existing door closer to close the fire door when a compatible fire alarm is detected.

- Adjustable alarm sensitivity: Can be set to respond appropriately to the alarm sound level at the installation location.
- Standard flat floorplate included: Provides a low-profile contact surface for the plunger on smooth or slippery floors.
- Flexible hold-open position: The foot-operated plunger can retain the door at the angle required for the opening.
