Fireco Dorgard SmartSound Fire Door Retainer (2 Colours)
The Fireco Dorgard SmartSound is a battery-operated acoustic fire door retainer designed for buildings where everyday background noise can make a standard sound-activated retainer less convenient. It holds a suitable self-closing fire door open and releases when it recognises a compatible sustained fire alarm.
Why Choose SmartSound?
The main SmartSound benefit is better discrimination between the fire alarm and everyday noise. A standard Dorgard listens for a sustained alarm sound. SmartSound adds advanced noise-filtering and sound-recognition technology that can distinguish the fire alarm from common background sounds such as vacuum cleaners, machinery and general building activity.
That makes SmartSound particularly useful in schools, care homes, hotels, offices and other busy or noisy buildings, because it helps reduce nuisance releases caused by routine noise while still releasing the fire door when a compatible fire alarm is recognised.
Important: SmartSound may not be compatible with some mechanical fire alarm bells. Confirm the site's alarm type and suitability before ordering.
