How to Use My Projects – Plan, Quote & Manage Your Installations

Whether you're organising a single-door installation or managing several sites, keeping track of products, quotations and orders can become time-consuming.

Our My Projects feature gives you one place to plan installations, organise products by door or location, request quotations and keep a record of what you've ordered.

Here's how it works.

1. Getting Started – Create Your First Project

To get started, sign in to your Door Access Supplies account and open My Projects.

Select Create Project and enter a name. This could be a customer, building, site or job reference, such as Westfield Offices – Access Control Upgrade.

Your project is saved to your account, so you can return to it whenever you need to.

Projects are organised into Live, Ordered and Completed sections, helping you keep upcoming work separate from installations already underway or finished.

2. Plan Your Project – Site Details & Locations

The project planning window allows you to record the location and important details of your installation.

Add the site address, postcode and any relevant notes. This is useful when managing multiple customers or sites, as everything stays with the project.

Saved locations can also appear on the interactive UK map, giving you a visual overview of where your projects are situated.

You can zoom in to individual locations or view several projects across a wider area.

3. Organise Your Installation Using Assets

One of the most useful features of My Projects is the ability to divide an installation into individual Assets.

An asset could be a main entrance, rear door, lobby, gate or another location within a building.

For example, an office installation might include:

  • Main Entrance – Maglock, keypad, power supply and exit button.

  • Rear Entrance – Electric strike, reader and emergency release.

  • Staff Entrance – Maglock, mounting bracket and access control accessories.

Use the asset controls to add, rename, duplicate or remove individual locations.

You can also include notes against each asset, helping the engineer identify any particular installation requirements.

Keeping products organised by door is especially useful on larger projects, where several entrances may require different equipment.

4. Adding Products to Your Project

You can add products while browsing our website or by using our Design Your Own Access Control System builder.

The builder allows you to select individual components for timber, aluminium and glass doors or gates, with options for multiple doors within the same installation.

Once you've selected the required components, you can save them to a project rather than ordering straight away.

You can also browse individual products, including our maglocks, electric strikes and keypads and readers.

Within your project, you can review products, change quantities and organise items under the correct assets.

All product prices and the project subtotal are displayed excluding VAT.

5. Understanding the Project Buttons

Each project has a number of controls to help you manage it.

Edit – Make changes to your project details, products, quantities, notes or assets.

Duplicate – Create a copy of an existing project. Particularly useful for repeat installations or similar jobs across multiple buildings.

Delete – Remove a project you no longer need.

Add to Basket / Order – Transfer your selected project products into your basket, ready to purchase.

Raise Quote – Submit your project's product requirements to Door Access Supplies for quotation without placing an order.

Raise Revised Quote – Request an updated quotation if your product requirements have changed, where this option is available.

Print Engineers Sheet – Produce a reference document for the installation engineer once the project has been ordered.

Reorder – Order previously purchased products again, where available.

6. Raising a Quotation

If you're preparing a price for a customer, you may want to confirm the cost of materials before placing an order.

Once you've added the required products to your project, select Raise Quote.

Your project information and selected products are submitted to Door Access Supplies for quotation.

This is useful for larger installations, customer estimates or projects awaiting approval.

If your specification changes, you can update the products and request a revised quotation.

Requesting a quotation does not place an order. You can continue planning your installation before committing to a purchase.

7. Ordering & Tracking Your Projects

My Projects separates your work into three stages.

Live Projects

These are installations you're planning or preparing. You can continue editing products, quantities, assets and project information.

Ordered Projects

Once you place an order for a project, it moves into the Ordered section automatically.

Your original project details are retained alongside the order reference, making it easier to identify which products were purchased for each installation.

Completed Projects

When the installation is finished, you can move the project into the Completed section.

This provides a useful record of previous installations, especially when a customer needs additional equipment or replacement parts.

You can also duplicate an earlier project to use as a starting point for a new installation.

8. Engineers Sheet – Information for Your Installation Team

Once a project has been ordered, the Engineers Sheet becomes available.

This can be printed or saved as a PDF and used as a reference when attending site.

It brings together the project information, individual assets, selected products and relevant installation notes.

Where available, product datasheets and QR codes provide access to additional technical information.

For larger installations, this helps engineers identify which products have been allocated to each door or location without searching through the full purchase order.

The Engineers Sheet is particularly useful when different engineers are responsible for specifying, ordering and installing the equipment.

Please note: The Engineers Sheet is a project reference document. Product installation instructions and relevant safety requirements must still be followed.

9. Using the Interactive Project Map

The interactive map provides a visual overview of your project locations across the UK.

Each project with location information can appear as a marker, allowing you to identify where installations are situated.

This is particularly helpful for contractors, facilities management companies and maintenance engineers responsible for multiple buildings.

10. Managing Repeat Installations

If you regularly install similar access control systems, there's no need to create every project from scratch.

Open a previous project and select Duplicate.

You can rename the new project, update the location and amend any products or quantities that differ from the original installation.

For example, if you've completed a four-door access control installation at one office and are carrying out a similar job elsewhere, duplicating the project provides a convenient starting point.

You can also return to previously ordered projects to identify replacement components or reorder products.

Start Planning Your Next Installation

My Projects has been designed to make managing access control and automatic door installations more straightforward, from the initial product selection through to quotation, ordering and installation.

Whether you're an independent engineer organising your next job or a contractor managing several sites, it gives you a practical way to keep your project information and materials together.
