Adams Rite 7101 Monitored Radius Electric Strike | L5135
The Adams Rite 7101 is a medium-duty mortice electric strike for aluminium-framed doors and access-controlled entrances. It replaces the fixed strike in a compatible frame or opposing aluminium door leaf, allowing a keypad, intercom, card reader or controller to release the existing deadlatch electrically while retaining normal mechanical operation of the lock.
This model has a radiused faceplate shaped to suit the rounded nose of the inactive leaf in a suitable pair of narrow-stile aluminium doors. The curved profile is important: it should not be substituted for a flat-faceplate strike unless the receiving stile and door arrangement are specifically prepared for it.
This is a monitored electric strike. Its additional status contacts can be connected to suitable access-control, alarm or building-management equipment to report the relevant strike or latch condition. Monitoring is separate from the power connections and must be commissioned with a controller capable of using the signal.
Key Features
- Purpose-made aluminium-door release: Designed for compatible narrow-stile aluminium frames and door assemblies.
- Existing deadlatch retained: Electrically releases a suitable latchbolt without the user having to withdraw the mechanical latch.
- Medium-duty security: Supplier-listed holding force of approximately 907kg (2,000lb) for compatible 7100-series configurations.
- Integrated status monitoring: Latch-position monitoring provides normally open and normally closed status connections for a compatible access-control or alarm input.
- DC continuous operation: DC versions are continuously rated; AC models are intended for intermittent operation.
- Compatible latch projection: Suitable for compatible deadlatches or cylindrical locksets with approximately 12.7mm to 15.9mm latchbolt projection.
- Non-handed arrangement: Suitable for left- or right-hand door applications when correctly installed.
- Architectural finish: Satin anodised aluminium finish complements commercial aluminium door and frame systems.
- Short faceplate: Approximately 123mm to 124mm high and 32mm wide, depending on the selected series and faceplate.
- Stainless steel keeper: Durable bolt-retaining components support reliable repeated release and re-latching.
- Access-control compatibility: Can form part of an appropriately designed keypad, reader, intercom or managed door-entry system.

Voltage and Fail-Safe or Fail-Secure Options
This configuration operates from a 12V DC supply and is supplied as a fail-secure (fail-locked) monitored release. Confirm the door's emergency-exit provisions and the required monitored input before installation.
Installation and Compatibility
- Confirm whether the opening requires a flat or radiused faceplate before selecting the strike; these profiles are not interchangeable without the correct door or frame preparation.
- Measure the existing faceplate, strike-body pocket, latch projection and available clearance behind the frame before ordering.
- Check that the existing Adams Rite deadlatch or cylindrical latch enters the keeper centrally and withdraws without binding.
- Match the chosen voltage and AC/DC supply type to the actual strike variant; size the power supply and controller relay for the relevant current draw.
- Set fail-safe or fail-secure operation only where supported by the selected model and where consistent with the complete access-control and emergency-release design.
- Wire the monitoring contacts separately to a suitable supervised or unsupervised controller input and verify the reported state with the actual latch engaged and released.
- Use appropriate fixings, mounting clips and frame preparation, and check handing, door gaps and latch alignment before energising the release.
- Commission the strike under real operating conditions, including the effect of the door closer, air pressure, latch preload and normal traffic.
- Check escape routes, emergency release, fire strategy and any required interfacing with a competent installer or responsible person before the opening is put into service.
Recommended Applications
- Single-leaf or paired aluminium entrance doors in offices, shared residential buildings and commercial premises.
- Narrow-stile shopfronts, communal entrances and controlled-access reception doors with compatible latch hardware.
- Audio or video door-entry systems where an indoor handset, monitor or release button operates the entrance door.
- Standalone keypad, proximity-reader and card-reader installations requiring an electrically controlled deadlatch release.
- Replacement and refurbishment projects where an existing Adams Rite release needs matching by faceplate, voltage and fail-safe or fail-secure behaviour.
- Managed access-control, alarm and building-management systems that need strike or latch-status feedback from a monitored locking device.
What's Included

- Matching faceplate and the standard manufacturer-supplied installation components for that model.
- Integrated strike or latch-monitoring connections for use with a compatible controller.
- Power supply, controller, deadlatch, keypad and other access-control equipment are not included.
